When I was growing up, there was a law made by my mother that ruled the Richmond Household.
“If you say something ugly about anyone or anything, you must immediately think of something nice to say.”
Many lessons were learned as I grew up and this also became law in my own family. To this day, my kids and grandchildren know I mean business… full credit to my mom!
My grandson, Peter, came for a visit and after playing in the yard, ran inside.
“I’m starving! What’s for dinner, Grandma?”
“Ham,” I replied.
“Oooh… I hate ham!” Pete squealed.
“Now say something nice about ham.”
“I love bacon.”

Kids… you gotta love ‘em. They always have a way of making you smile. Their ability to think on their feet is always amusing. What will they come up with next? I wait and wonder…
